The Anxious Mind

The thoughts you can't stop thinking. The fear that your faith isn't real. The terror of the unforgivable sin. The constant question: what if I'm not one of the chosen? You're not alone. You're not crazy. And God—the God who chose you before the creation of the world—holds you despite what your mind keeps screaming.

Romans 8:35-39 — Nothing can separate you from the love of God. Not your thoughts. Not your fears. Not the terror that screams in the night. Not the doubt that won't shut up. If you are His, He will not let you go. The mind that torments you does not have the final say. God does.

"For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need." — Hebrews 4:15-16

The Thoughts You Can't Stop Thinking

The intrusive blasphemous thoughts. The fear of the unforgivable sin. The terror that your faith isn't real. You're not alone. This is scrupulosity.

What If I'm Not One of the Chosen?

That terror you feel? If that question terrifies you, here is the beautiful paradox: the fear itself is evidence that you are chosen. Dead hearts don't worry about being alive.

The Thoughts You Can't Stop — When Your Mind Becomes a War Zone

Intrusive thoughts, blasphemous images, unwanted mental loops — they don't prove you're evil. They may prove the opposite. For the anxious believer tormented by thoughts they never invited.

The Loop That Won't Break

The checking. The replaying. The what-ifs that spin in circles when the house is asleep. Your brain is trying to be God — and sovereignty is the only thing that breaks the cycle.

Your Brain Decides Before You Do

Neuroscience now shows your brain fires the signal to act a full half-second before you are consciously aware of "choosing." Libet's experiments settled it decades ago. Free will, as you imagined it, does not exist. The mirror has already confirmed what Scripture said three thousand years ago.

You Were Never Meant to Carry This

Anxiety is the logical response to believing everything depends on you. If your salvation, your sanctification, your children, your future, and your faith are all your responsibility — of course you are exhausted. God never asked you to carry any of it. Set it down. He was never going to hand it to you.

Why You Can Sleep When the World Is Falling Apart

Jesus slept in a boat that was actively sinking. The disciples panicked. He rested. Not because He didn't know the storm was real, but because He knew who was on board. If God is sovereign, sleep is an act of worship. Insomnia is often theology misfiring in the dark.

The Terror That Won't Quiet: When You're Afraid of Hell

You can't argue yourself out of the fear of hell — and that's not a sign of weak faith. It's a sign the Spirit is still doing the most tender work He ever does: anchoring you in a salvation that was never in your hands.

"If your mind is screaming that you're not chosen, your mind is lying. The One who is actually in control disagrees."

Are You Sure You're Saved?

If you're reading this with a mind that won't stop screaming that you're not chosen, I need to tell you something: that anxiety might be the very thing that proves you are. A dead heart doesn't worry about being alive. Only a living soul fears it might not be. God chose you. And if He chose you, all the fears of your mind cannot unmake that choice. Not one.
